Perranporth
If you’re looking for somewhere for kids and dogs to run wild, this is the place! At low tide Perranporth Beach and adjoining Penhale Sands form one of the largest stretches of sand on the North Coast. Dogs are allowed all year and there are no lead restrictions during the winter months. Perranporth also boasts the UK’s only bar on the beach! The Watering Hole is a great spot to warm up after a wintry walk.

Hayle Beach (the Towans)
The joy of this beach is that it never feels overcrowded. The car park can be full, with a handful of people making their way onto the beach and close to the access – but away from that there’s so much space. This beach makes up part of Hayle’s ‘3 miles of golden sand’, all of which is accessible at low tide. Dogs are welcome unrestricted during the winter months.

Porthcurnick Beach
You’re very unlikely to stumble upon this beach unless you’re looking for it. It’s private, but with access allowed. Wide, sandy and with rockpools, it’s a lovely spot. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. During the winter months you might find a parking spot on the road down to the beach, but during busier times head to the car park at Portscatho. The very popular Hidden Hut can be found behind the beach – currently closed for winter hibernation, it reopens in mid-March.

Nansidwell Beach
Much quieter than its neighbour at Maenporth, mostly due to the walk from the roadside parking down to the beach. A great downhill stomp to the small, but lovely beach, with a slower return to the car! There are no nearby facilities, but it’s dog friendly all year round. For a longer walk, head onto the South West Coast Path towards Maenporth or Rosemullion Head.

Mylor
Within fifteen minutes’ drive, this is the closest beach to the cottage. Certainly not the largest or sandiest, but close to the car park and with two great places to eat – Café Mylor and Castaways. Perfect for a quick blast, or head onto the coast path towards Flushing for a longer walk (and another beach). Both the beach at Mylor Harbour and Flushing are dog friendly year-round.
